Volunteers play a crucial role in the mission of Kings Local Food Pantry. The food donations we receive must be sorted, organized and distributed to the families we serve. We also rely on volunteers who leverage their professional skills to benefit the organization. Others volunteer to lead food drives in their community, place of work or school. Consider partnering with us to make an impact in the fight against hunger.

Call or stop by the pantry during our normal hours of operation to learn how to organize a food or personal care donation drive at your place of business, school, church, community organization, neighborhood, sports team, etc. You will receive helpful hints such as items for which there is the greatest need, checking expiration dates, and delivering your donations to the pantry.

A number of years ago, I was blessed to have friends, neighbors and others in the community reach out with meals and other support to help my family get through a time of tragedy. After a while, I looked into volunteering at my local food pantry for two reasons. One was to give back and hopefully bless others through doing so. The other reason was that we can experience healing ourselves when we stop focusing inward and reach out to serve others. Since then, I have lived in several locations and I’ve volunteered at several different pantries. I’ve not only been blessed by being on the receiving end of support at a time of need, but I continue to be blessed by being able to help others.
